Komuniti First Aid

With over 80 percent of the population of Papua New Guinea residing in 'rural' areas, an overwhelming number of people lack access to quality health care.

St John has developed pragmatic first aid training programs that are aimed and delivered at the community level.

Komuniti First Aid initiative partners with communities and businesses to deliver training that saves lives and improves health at work and home.

The programs cover key first aid and health topics with a strong focus on prevention of illness:

   Maternal and child emergencies
   CPR
   Choking
   Infectious disease prevention
   Snakebite
   Bleeding & wound care

Our Tiny-Tots First Aid kit is perfect for new parents. It contains the essentials for keeping bub well.

The First Aid in Schools (FAIS) Programs is an arm of the Komuniti initiative. There is no better time to teach first aid than to people soon to graduate school. Students take the training back to the home and pass it on to others. The FAIS initiative is fully funded and supported by the Sir Brian Bell Foundation.

In 2019, the Komuniti and First Aid in Schools programs expect to reach over 5,000 people in Central Province, NCD and East New Britain communities.
