St John Health is a humanitarian and health care royal charter organisation that specialises in ambulance, prehospital and emergency health care. St John PNG is a statutory incorporation that has been operating in Papua New Guinea since 1957.
St John Papua New Guinea is the first Pacific Island Member of the Council of Ambulance Authorities.
We have strong links with all major public hospitals and leading private hospitals. Our agreements with private hospitals allow us to offer our patients more options and ensures continuity of care. We are governed by the National St John Council (Board of Directors) of which all members are appointed by the Governor General of Papua New Guinea in accordance with the Act.
Quality and reliable health care is our reputation globally, and that same ethos is applied in all the work we do in Papua New Guinea. We have a passionate team of specialist doctors that contribute to the brilliant work our paramedics, doctors, EMTs, first aiders and nurses perform in the field. Our team of career specialist doctors provide 24-hour advice and support to our team of paramedics and ambulance officers. Our advanced paramedics focus on primary and secondary air evacuation missions, our specialist doctors are engaged for most in tertiary (critical care) air evacuation missions. Our doctors are involved in many aspects of clinical leadership and governance, and these same doctors set the protocols, guidelines and pharmacologies used by all clinicians, health professionals, ambulance workers and first aiders.
