Areas We Cover
National Health Partnerships
Through the National Department of Health and in partnership with Provincial Health Authorities, National St John Ambulance is dedicated to providing emergency ambulance services across all regions of Papua New Guinea. Our goal is to ensure that help is accessible to those in need, regardless of their location.
Extensive Coverage
Currently, our ambulance services cover about 40% of the country’s population and only 30% of its combined landmass. In addition to the services provided by National St John Ambulance, many health facilities operate patient transport vehicles that play a crucial role in transferring patients between smaller health facilities and provincial hospitals.
Air Medical Support
We also collaborate with charter aircraft operators to access, stabilise and retrieve patients from any part of Papua New Guinea, using either fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters. This partnership ensures that even the most remote areas can receive timely and critical medical assistance from our doctors, paramedics and nurses.
