About the Role
National St John Ambulance PNG is recruiting experienced and adaptable paramedics to join the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership (PNG-APP) Paramedic Support Program – a collaborative initiative providing medical support to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in Papua New Guinea.
This unique role offers the opportunity to provide high-level pre-hospital care in a remote, resource-limited environment. Paramedics are deployed primarily to regional locations (Lae, Kokopo, or Mt Hagen) or Port Moresby, and contribute both to AFP medical support (in a 24/7 on-call capacity) as well as local ambulance service delivery.
You will also work alongside local ambulance officers and clinicians to support local operations, serve as a clinical role model, and contribute to the ongoing development and capacity-building of the national ambulance service.
The role involves a component of non-clinical and sustainable development work within the project, with the opportunity for paramedics to spearhead and lead their own projects.
